Safe and Clean Halloween

Is Halloween cancelled this year? Crowds of kids going door to door doesn’t seem like a great idea right now. What can families do to still have fun while staying safe and clean? • Plan costumes wisely: This will be the year of masks. If a mask is part of the costume, it will be more likely to stay on throughout the night and keep kids from touching their face. Choose a mask that can be washed when you get home, especially if it will be worn for multiple events.
  • Choose your activity: Depending on local conditions, trick-or-treating may or may not be an option this year. Look for organized events, like a socially-distanced costume parade or a trunk-or-treat. Bring hand sanitizer and supervise its use with younger children.
  • Embrace new traditions: This may be the year to stay #SafeandCleanatHome. Start a new, fun tradition, like a family movie night. Prepare some themed snacks and don’t forget to pick up some candy at the store for dessert.

Hopefully this time next year, we’ll once again be bobbing for apples and ringing doorbells for candy. In the meantime, we can still enjoy fun Halloween activities.
